Habitat Hobsonville
We are a community-based group of volunteers focused on restoring and enhancing the natural habitat around Hobsonville.
The focus of the group includes;
- trapping predators such as rats, stoats and possums
- removing noxious plants such as privet, tobacco weed and woolly nightshade
- planting, restoring and regenerating native habitats
- measuring the impact of our actions
Come and meet us at our next weeding event!
What We Do
01.
Trapping
Our trapping team regularly run trapping pulses aimed at eliminated targeted pest species. This helps protect our environment and encourages native wildlife to make Hobsonville their home,
02.
Weeding
Invasive plants require frequent management to promote the growth of native flora. Doing so helps create the best possible habitat for our indigenous animals.
03.
Community Engagement
At our regular community events, we share knowledge on our environment and help locals get involved. By working together, we can restore and enhance Hobsonville’s natural environment for everyone to enjoy.
Get Involved!
We are always needing helping hands of all ages to assist with our goals. Feel free to get in touch and find out how you can be part of our growing team of keen volunteers!
